BOWL SEASON IS HERE

Bowl season has already kicked off and the CFP is waiting in the wings for the first round to kickoff on Friday, so let’s dive into a preview of those games and what is up next for our bowl season!

The College Football Playoff - First Round

Friday December 19th, 2025

(9) Alabama at (8) Oklahoma

This is a rematch of an Oklahoma win in Tuscaloosa back in November. Oklahoma won that game with a sterling defensive performance, even without the Sooners’ best defender R Mason Thomas on the field. Alabama got the nod for an at-large bid, but has not played stellar football lately. Can it gain a measure of revenge on Oklahoma to earn a Rose Bowl berth v. Indiana? QB Ty Simpson holds the key to whether that happens in Norman.

Saturday December 20th, 2025

(12) James Madison at (5) Oregon

The Dukes are a stellar football team led by QB Alonza Barnett III and have lost just one game, but going to Eugene to take on the one-loss Ducks is quite the mouthful. Oregon QB Dante Moore is an absolute dude and has played at a high level all season. Quite simply, the Ducks will be too much for a feisty James Madison squad in Autzen Stadium.

(11) Tulane at (6) Ole Miss

These two teams met in Oxford in late September and the Rebels walked out with a 35-point victory. But, the Green Wave is playing some good football at the end of the season and it will help having played the Rebels earlier in the season. That intimidation factor just won’t be there but what impact will the past few weeks have on the Ole Miss team, now sans former head coach Lane Kiffin? Great question, but it’s probably not going to matter all that much until next week against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. But, Tulane will sell out to make sure that it’s the one moving on, not the Pete Golding-led Rebs.

(10) Miami, FL at (7) Texas A&M

The Aggies perfect season was ruined at Austin in a final 30 minutes that A&M would love to have back. But, the Aggies have been able to get rested, rehabbed and prepped for a Miami, FL team that was playing its best football at the end of the season. A&M QB Marcel Reed struggled in the second half in Austin and the Aggies season will end in round one if Reed doesn’t shake off that rough half of football. Miami, FL is physical, and physically gifted, so this one resonates as the game of the weekend.

Bowl Games This Week

Wednesday December 17th, 2025

Cure Bowl

Old Dominion v. USF

The Bulls had dominant moments during the 2025 season which caught the attention of many for former head coach Alex Golesh. But, Old Dominion finished STRONG winning five in a row to end the season.

68 Ventures Bowl

Louisiana v. Delaware

The Blue Hens of Delaware will play their first bowl game as an FBS program, while the Ragin Cajuns come in HOT, winning the last four in a row, averaging over 39 points per game.

Thursday December 18th, 2025

XBox Bowl

Arkansas State v. Missouri State

Seeing Missouri State in a bowl game is fantastic, the first of its kind for that program since moving up to FBS football. Arkansas State just finds a way to win, no matter what.

Friday December 19th, 2025

Myrtle Beach Bowl

Kennesaw State v. Western Michigan

Two tremendous stories in college football will meet in Myrtle. The Kennesaw State Owls won CUSA as head coach Jerry Mack continued the amazing rise for the former FCS power. Lance Taylor led the Broncos to an amazing MAC Championship, beating Ohio in Detroit 23-13. Two champs. One bowl game winner. Let’s GO!

Gasparilla Bowl

Memphis v. NC State

The Tigers lost head coach Ryan Silverfield to Arkansas, but what he left behind is potent offensively and will put a hurting on NC State’s defense. QB C.J. Bailey leads a talented NC State offense, so expect these two to put a ton of points on the board for all the Gasparilla in the world…I guess!
